Last week I became a certified Carpentries instructor. This means that I have done some training, and demonstrated some skill in, teaching grownups how to write programs and wrangle data.
It also means I’ve joined a worldwide community of people who are dedicated to helping other people avoid mistakes they’ve made. Which is an excellent goal! If you’re a scientist, analyst of any sort, or even someone needing to wrestle with excel spreadsheets which are getting out of hand, I’d urge you to check the materials out. There are streams for Software Carpentry and Data Carpentry , more or less explained here.
