Lutruwita / Tasmania is generally characterised by lush greenery, temperate rainforests and rugged terrain. Painting her in blue was a design experiment born from the 2019 #30daymapchallenge – and it has stuck with me.
The iconic Overland Track winds its way through the centre of this rugged patch of the planet, a place I’ve had a long connection with and introduced many people to as a wilderness guide.

It is made using ASTER GDEM v3 topography, surface hydrographic data from Geoscience Australia, and OpenStreetMap (https://openstreetmap.org). It was fully rendered in QGIS (https://qqis.org)
